It is helpful to mention where you are pinging from for each test when you have these types of issues. All I did was, tried renewing the ip with "ipconfig /renew". Server2 had static IP’s of 192.168.11.2 and 192.168.12.2. If that still does not solve the problem, one can set up a simple DHCP server and see if they can connect through this way. see this

This error results from attempting to reach a location on the network that is not accessible. In some cases, if you are running Vista and are also running TCP/IPv6, this may be the cause of the problem, as V4 seems to work better with Vista.
