One mor ething; I thought it would help if I uninstalled the creative suite 4 and re-install it... Weird. Here is what I did: I created a new file, the exact size of the one I couldn't save; and gave it a similar name but not the exact same name. If you are using OS X Tiger 10.4 on an Intel Mac then you could try holding down the Apple + Option + Shift keys as you start up Photoshop.
